Our goal is to help people who are diagnosed with pre-diabetes learn to live healthier lives and to teach people with diabetes to care for themselves properly.

Certified Diabetes Educators and dietitians host one-on-one consultations, group sessions, classes and programs to cover topics such as:

  • Activity and exercise

  • How and when to monitor blood sugar

  • Meal planning

  • Medication usage

  • Stress management

The mission of the BDC is to provide state-of the-art care to children and adults with type 1 diabetes and to teach our patients how to prevent or delay complications. Our research is devoted to finding prevention, cure, and most effective treatment of diabetes and associated disorders. Telemedicine services are available to families on the western slope through monthly clinics in Grand Junction and Rifle.
